Cuban Wafers dipped in Pure Chocolate
According to the existing documentation, it is believed that the waffle began to be manufactured around the 9th century. At first it was sold at the door of the churches, being made right there in portable coal ovens.
In the Middle Ages, waffles were widespread and were part of the diet of the nobility. They were also sold on the street.
The first preserved utensils for making wafers date back to 1440. It is believed that these instruments could have belonged to Juan II of Navarra and Aragon, since they are engraved with the heraldic shields of the royal house of Aragon.
During imperial times, it was introduced to Hispanic America and the Philippines. Today, it is very popular in Spain, Latin America and Southeast Asia.
